Heather Szott, Certified BASI Pilates Instructor
Heather spent decades dancing, practicing karate, weightlifting, boxing, skiing, and hiking before age and injuries started to impact performance. Following significant shoulder instability, she attended her first Pilates class and her whole world shifted. All of her exercise experience to that point converged in Pilates, leading her to deep dive into proper muscle engagement and alignment. Four years of dedicated Pilates practice later, Heather drank the Kool-Aid and decided to become a Pilates instructor. She chose BASI Pilates training due to their comprehensive, contemporary, thoughtful, and inclusive approach to Pilates. Heather loves the challenge of customizing sessions according to each client's body and continually studies the science of movement.
Joe Szott, Certified Rolfer™
Hello, I'm Joe and I thank you for taking an interest in Rolfing® Structural Integration.
I am a life-long believer in exercising, eating well, and am always curious about exploring something new. Unfortunately, I was also taught to 'suck it up' and 'push through the pain' when I was a young athlete. When I found myself in intense pain with a herniated disc in 2016 and with minimal help from traditional medicine, I discovered this philosophy was severely flawed. This began a search for more permanent solution through non-traditional means. I tried Pilates, Acupuncture, Yoga, and many other healing modalities. In 2018 though, I discovered the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute® (DIRI) and in 10 sessions I found what I was looking for. Not only was the pain gone, but my posture had improved, my body was better aligned, my workouts were better, I had more energy, and in general I felt 10 years younger. The best part is these changes have been permanent and I still feel great.
In 2019, I returned to DIRI and became a Certified Rolfer™. If you are in pain or searching for a change in your body, I have been there and would love to take that healing journey with you!
